Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign out-of-favour Manchester United defender Alex Telles.

Alex Telles is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr after reports have confirmed that the Saudi Pro League side are nearing a deal with Manchester United for the defender’s transfer.

Telles fell out-of-favour at Old Trafford towards the end of the 2021/22 season, and spent last term on loan with La Liga side Sevilla.

And now, after returning to the North West, Telles is set to exit permanently, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Brazilian is close to completing his Saudi switch.

Romano confirmed that an agreement is in place between both clubs, and that they are just waiting on the final documents.

All was revealed on Romano’s social channels early on Tuesday morning.

“Al-Nassr are closing in on deal to sign Alex Telles from Man United, here we go soon!” he tweeted.

“There’s verbal agreement now in place between the two clubs, waiting for the documents/check details.

“Al-Nassr want both Seko Fofana and Telles to join in the next days.”

As confirmed by Romano, Telles will be the latest alongside Lens’ Seko Fofana to join Al-Nassr.

Lens are set to receive upwards of £30million for their Ivorian midfielder after he completed the first part of his medical out in Portugal on Monday.

Telles’ Red Devils departure marks the end of a three-year spell at Old Trafford, having joined from Porto back in October 2020 for a reported £15.4million.

During his time with the club, he made 50 appearances in all competitions, and scored just once with a left-footed volley against Villarreal in the Champions League group stage in 2021/22.
