The Premier League has officially handed Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic an eight match ban, after the Serbian pushed referee Chris Kavanagh in an FA Cup clash with Manchester United.
Mitrovic is known to be a bit of a hot head on the pitch, so it didn’t come as much of a shock when the Fulham striker got in Chris Kavanagh’s face after a penalty decision didn’t go his sides way last month.
The Premier League announced today that Mitrovic will serve an eight game ban for his actions, as well as being ordered to pay a £75,000 fine.

Mitrovic’s ban can be broken down into three parts, with the striker serving a three-match ban for the sending off, three for violent conduct and an additional two for “improper, abusive, insulting and threatening” language.
The incident all began when Brazilian winger Willian was judged to block the ball on the line with his hand and after a quick look at the pitch-side monitor, Chris Kavanagh pointed straight to the spot.
Mitrovic lost his head at the decision and the striker sprinted straight over to the referee before dragging him back by the shoulder to shout in his face.
It was no surprise that Fulham’s talisman saw red immediately for his actions, with Marco Silva also sent off for his protests at the decision and Willian dismissed for his handball which prevented a certain goal for United.

Marco Silva will also serve a two-match ban after he was sent off, even though he said after the game that he “regrets what happened”.
The red card completely changed the shape of the game, as Fulham were 1-0 up in the FA Cup quarter final before the penalty which was cooly dispatched by Bruno Fernandes.
Manchester United went on to win the cup clash comfortably, with late goals from Marcel Sabitzer and Fernandes again securing the Red Devils’ a place in the semi finals.
Mitrovic’s eight match ban means Fulham will be without their top goaslcorer until the last three matches of this season, which will be a huge blow for a side already struggling for form.
