Al-Hilal have submitted an offer worth €140m in an attempt to pry Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli, including wages worth €1m-a-week on the table for the 24-year-old.

Osimhen won the league with Napoli last season and finished as the Serie A‘s top scorer with 26 goals in 30 starts as he cemented his name amongst the best strikers in world football.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal have conducted some smart business already this summer with the arrivals of Ruben Neves from Wolves (£47m), Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea (£20m), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio (£35m) and Zenit St. Petersburg’s Malcom (£52m).

It has been reported by Sky Sports that Napoli are seeking a fee of €150m for the player, who has one year remaining on his contract in Naples and failed to find a resolution on an extension to his deal with the Italian side.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was asked about the contract situation last month, to which he replied:

“We have a basic agreement on a two-year extension, but [we are] willing to consider an offer we could not refuse.”

Al-Hilal have presented Osimhen with an incredible offer of €1m-a-week wages, one that could prove too enticing to refuse. He would become the latest household name to join the quickly growing Saudi Pro League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez.

The Nigerian forward was a reported target for Premier League side Manchester United last summer, who have opted to pursue Atalanta’s 20-year-old rising star Rasmus Hojlund for a lesser fee instead.
