The 2025 Ryder Cup odds sees Europe @ 7/4 to retain their title when the event heads to the Bethpage Black Course in New York in two year’s time – with leading Irish bookmaker Paddy Power making the USA the 2025 Ryder Cup favourites @ 8/11 to win back their crown with the advantage of it being played on home soil.
2025 Ryder Cup Odds Sees Europe As Clear Second Favourites To Defend Title
After an electric opening day in the 2023 Ryder Cup, the European Team, which was led by captain Luke Donald, set the tone to wrestle back golf’s biggest team trophy from the USA team with a 16 1/2 – 11 1/2 overall win after the Sunday singles.
In a dramatic event, that will not only be remembered for the dominate European display at the Marco Simone Golf Course in Rome, but also the ‘Cantlay Caddie’ incident on the Saturday involving Rory McIlroy and US bag man Joe LeCava – it was Europe that ended up winning the 44th Ryder Cup and their 16th in total (if you include those won by Great Britain too).
The victory for Europe was also sweet revenge after the 19-9 thumping they received by the USA at Whistling Straits in 2021, but now the attention turns to the 2025 Ryder Cup, which will be staged at the tough Bethpage Black Course in New York.
Paddy Power have already priced up the 2025 Ryder Cup odds, and despite Europe’s recent win in Rome are making them @ 7/4 and second favourites to defend their title – with the USA team the clear favourites @ 8/11 and @ 10/1 the tie.
An emotional Rory McIlroy, who won four points for Europe at the 2023 Ryder Cup, told the victory press conference “I’ve said this for the last probably six or seven years to anyone that will listen: I think one of the biggest accomplishments in golf right now is winning the Ryder Cup. And that’s what we’re going to do at Bethpage.”

The European Ryder Cup win was their 5th title in the last seven runnings of the event, with the only two USA victories in this period coming in 2016 and 2021.
Ryder Cup Hosts Have A Great Recent Record
The potential bad news for Europe though is they will be fully aware of the excellent record the Ryder Cup hosts have.
Europe and USA share the staging duties of the Ryder Cup and in 2025 the event will return to America.
With the home side having more control over the opening two days format (when the four-balls and foursomes will be played) and also the set-up of the course (pin positions) – not to mention the added advantage of the home crowd – this has proven to be like a 13th Ryder Cup player.
This ‘host record’ was spot-on again in 2023, with Europe winning and the last time they lost on home spoil was in 1993 at the Belfry.
So, in 2025, it will be the turn of the US to try and uphold this top ‘host record’, with the last two played in America going their way, plus they’ve also won 3 of the last four at home.
Europe’s last Ryder Cup win in the US came in 2012 at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois.

Bethpage Black Course One Of The Hardest Golf Courses in US
There are five courses at Bethpage – however, it’s the ‘Black Course’ that is the hardest and in the past has staged the US Open (2002 & 2009) and PGA Championship (2019).
In 2020, the Bethpage Black Course was also listed as the hardest golf course (from 50) in America.
The 2025 Ryder Cup will also be the first time it’s been held at Bethpage Black Course.
