Trainer Paul Nicholls Has Won The Last Two Challow Hurdles
The last two runnings of the Challow Hurdle have gone to the powerful Paul Nicholls yard, who have already had a top Christmas by winning their 13th King George VI Chase on Boxing Day. In fact, the horse that won that King George VI Chase recently was Bravemansgame, who took the Challow Hurdle for Nicholls in 2020!
12 months ago, Paul Nicholls followed-up with Star Stage going in, while overall the Ditcheat handler has landed this Newbury Novices Hurdle four times after also having Cornish Rebel and a certain Denman win the prize in 2003 and 2006.
Nicholls has another big chance in the race with Hermes Allen, who is set to go off as the 2022 Challow Hurdle favourite.
Jonjo O’Neill has also won the Challow Hurdle four times but doesn’t have an entry in 2022.
