Why Cheltenham Results Today Matter

A winner among Cheltenham Festival results is what everyone connected with the great sport of horse racing wants every year. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a racehorse owner, trainer, jockey or just a plain old punter placing bets on the big races. Cheltenham horse racing results make or break the entire jumps season for many interested parties.

It’s a time of year where if a lot of favourites feature as winners among Cheltenham results that the bookies and online betting sites can take a bit of a bashing. Not that it really hurts them. It follows that today’s Cheltenham results influences tomorrow’s betting. Win a recognised Festival trial and that horse is bound to shorten up with the bookmakers.

Cheltenham Festival Results 2024

Cheltenham results

Whether it’s Cheltenham results yesterday has to offer or the current campaign, who won and lost at the Festival sets the tone for the whole jumps season. Everything on horse racing betting sites is geared around Cheltenham from a British jumps perspective. Its importance cannot be understated, either to punters or the bookies.

Cheltenham horse racing results today influence other meetings and even next year’s Festival in a lot of cases. That is the great thing about an event which has built up its programme to suit its own ends. The Festival brings the same horses back, albeit often in different races as they get older and transition from hurdles to fences, year after year after year.

That is why Cheltenham racing results from yesterday, and horse racing results in general from this and the previous season, need careful study. We thought breaking down results at Cheltenham today day by day would be helpful in this regard. That’s what this guide is all about. Check out full Cheltenham results for each of the four days at the Festival below:

Cheltenham Day 1 Results

There are important Cheltenham results on Tuesday of the Festival when four Grade 1 races and one of the oldest events in the jumps code take place. Everything begins with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. Accompanying the start of this opening contest is the famous Cheltenham roar. Many enthusiastic punters live at the course create this raucous atmosphere.

One of the key Cheltenham Festival racing results from this card is the Champion Hurdle, the most prestigious race of its kind. This follows the Grade 1 Arkle betting, another two-mile race, and the Ultima Handicap Chase for stayers. Completing the action at the highest level here is the Mares’ Hurdle over 2m 4f. The last of Cheltenham results on Tuesday is the 3m 6f Grade 2 marathon National Hunt Chase. Just before it is a juvenile handicap hurdle. View all of the latest Cheltenham day 1 results below race by race.

Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Results

Past Cheltenham racing results from the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle include famous wins for Flyingbolt, L’Escargot, Bula, Golden Cygnet, Like-A-Butterfly and Brave Inca. Each has their place in horse racing folklore. In more recent years, the likes of Douvan, Altior, Shishkin and Constitution Hill earned victories in the Supreme.

Today’s Cheltenham results and indeed every Festival begins with the winner of this. Look out for some Cheltenham free bets on this opening event., as well as horses trained by Willie Mullins (seven wins) and Nicky Henderson (five).

Position Silks Horse Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Robcour silks Slade Steel Rachael Blackmore Henry De Bromhead 1½ lengths 7/2
2nd JP McManus star cap Mystical Power Mark Walsh Willie Mullins 3½ lengths 100/30
3rd Bective Stud silks Firefox Jack Kennedy Gordon Elliott neck 11/2

Connections of Slade Steel were keen to avoid Ballyburn at the Cheltenham Festival and the decision to swerve him paid off as he won the Supreme on ground that was heavy in places. This Robcour runner battled back when headed after the last to beat the regally bred Mystical Power, despite sweating up and being keen early on with the front two pulling clear of Firefox and Asian Master. The favourite Tullyhill perhaps made too much of the running and faded.

Last 5 Winners of the Supreme

Year Horse Jockey Trainer Age SP
2023 Marine Nationale Michael O’Sullivan Barry Connell 6 9/2
2022 Constitution Hill Nico De Boinville Nicky Henderson 5 9/4JF
2021 Appreciate It Paul Townend Willie Mullins 7 8/11F
2020 Shishkin Nico De Boinville Nicky Henderson 6 6/1
2019 Klassical Dream Paul Townend Willie Mullins 5 6/1

My Pension Expert Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase Results

The Arkle Chase remembers the three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner of the same name. This Grade 1 novice chase has an illustrious roll of honour too. Cheltenham Festival race results here include successes for Fortria, Flyingbolt, Pendil, Remittance Man, Klairon Davis and Flagship Uberalles.

In the 21st century, many great two-milers have won the Arkle including Moscow Flyer, Well Chief, Sizing Europe, Sprinter Sacre, Un De Sceaux, Douvan, Altior, Shishkin and Edwardstone. Again, watch out for horses trained by Nicky Henderson (seven wins) and Willie Mullins (six).

Position Silks Horse Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Ricci silks Gaelic Warrior Paul Townend Willie Mullins 8½ lengths 2/1F
2nd Bective Stud silks Found A Fifty Jack Kennedy Gordon Elliott 4¾ lengths 13/2
3rd Il Etait Temps silks Il Etait Temps Danny Mullins Willie Mullins 6 lengths 7/2

After two seconds at previous Cheltenham Festivals, it was third time lucky for Gaelic Warrior who justified strong market support in the Arkle Chase. He travelled strongly under Paul Townend and gave trainer Willie Mullins a facile sixth win in the race. Gaelic Warrior jumped into the lead at the last and surged beyond Found A Fifty on the run-in, who was in turn clear of the winner’s stable companion Il Etait Temps. Quilixios appeared to miss the break.

Last 5 Winners of the Arkle

Year Horse Jockey Trainer Age SP
2023 El Fabiolo Paul Townend Willie Mullins 6 11/10F
2022 Edwardstone Tom Cannon Alan King 8 5/2F
2021 Shishkin Nico De Boinville Nicky Henderson 7 4/9F
2020 Put The Kettle On Aidan Coleman Henry De Bromhead 6 16/1
2019 Duc Des Genievres Paul Townend Willie Mullins 6 5/1

Ultima Handicap Chase Results

Results at Cheltenham today include competitive handicaps like the 3m 1f Ultima Handicap Chase. Originally the National Hunt Handicap Chase and registered as the Festival Trophy Handicap Chase, this race produced four subsequent Cheltenham Gold Cup winners during the 1950s including Limber Hill and Kerstin.

It then became more of a Grand National trials thanks to victories from West Tip, Seagram and Rough Quest. Wichita Lineman is the most recent famous winner of this staying Premier Handicap chase.

Position Horse Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Chianti Classico David Bass Kim Bailey 4½ lengths 6/1
2nd Twig Beau Morgan [5] Ben Pauling 1¼ lengths 28/1
3rd Meetingofthewaters Mark Walsh Willie Mullins 16 lengths 6/1
4th Famous Bridge Sean Quinlan Nicky Richards 12 lengths 25/1

The locally trained Chianti Classico added his name to the Ultima Handicap Chase roll of honour with Kim Bailey’s runner prominent throughout under David Bass. He found most up the hill from Ben Pauling’s Twig with Paddy Power Chase hero Meetingofthewaters running an eye-catching Grand National trial in third. Famous Bridge for the Nicky Richards stable was adrift in fourth, ahead of the favourite The Goffer.

Unibet Champion Hurdle Results

First run in 1927, the Champion Hurdle is one of the most significant Cheltenham results of the entire Festival. All the true equine greats of hurdling have won this. From Postwar stars like National Spirit, Hatton’s Grace and Sir Ken to the next golden age that began with Persian War in the late 1960s through legendary battles between Comedy Of Errors, Night Nurse, Monksfield and Sea Pigeon, and the dominance of See You Then in the mid-1980s, this race is steeped in history.

Cheltenham results include two-time Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D'Air

Modern greats Istabraq, Hardy Eustace, Hurricane Fly, Buveur D’Air and Honeysuckle are all multiple winners of the Champion Hurdle. Racing results at Cheltenham don’t come any bigger than this on the opening day of the Festival. In recent years, mares have had a big influence as they receive a 7lb sex allowance from the geldings in this otherwise level weights contest. That isn’t lost on the bookies when pricing up their Champion Hurdle odds every season either.

Position Silks Horse Jockey Trainer Distance SP
1st Joe and Marie Donnelly silks State Man Paul Townend Willie Mullins 1¼ lengths 2/5F
2nd Robcour silks Irish Point Jack Kennedy Gordon Elliott 2¼ lengths 9/2
3rd Luccia silks Luccia James Bowen Nicky Henderson 6 lengths 33/1

With Constitution Hill missing the defence of his Champion Hurdle crown through illness, last year’s second State Man justified his status as an odds-on favourite by going one better. This was a workmanlike but cosy victory by a length and a tail over Irish Point, who was home ahead of Nicky Henderson mare Luccia in a clear third. Four of the first five home in the Champion Hurdle were Irish trained. The race was run around a second slower than the Supreme.

Last 5 Winners of the Champion Hurdle

Year Horse Jockey Trainer Age SP
2023 Constitution Hill Nico De Boinville Nicky Henderson 6 4/11F
2022 Honeysuckle Rachael Blackmore Henry De Bromhead 8 8/11F
2021 Honeysuckle Rachael Blackmore Henry De Bromhead 7 11/10F
2020 Epatante Barry Geraghty Nicky Henderson 6 2/1F
2019 Espoir D’Allen Mark Walsh Gavin Cromwell 6 16/1

Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle Results

No page on Cheltenham Festival results should fail to mention Quevega, the winning most horse at the meeting in modern times. She recorded six consecutive victories in the Mares’ Hurdle between 2009 and 2014.

Quevega has gone down in horse racing history as a result of her exploits in this race. Other famous recent winners of this event, registered as David Nicholson Mares’ Hurdle in honour of the racehorse trainer, include Apple’s Jade, Honeysuckle and Marie’s Rock.

A Townend and Mullins treble, plus a double for owners Rich & Susannah Ricci was completed by the odds-on favourite Lossiemouth in the Mares’ Hurdle. She cruised to victory, besting three Henry De Bromhead females in Telmesomethinggirl, Hispanic Moon and Lantry Lady in second, third and fourth respectively. Last year’s runner-up Love Envoi got in the minor money as the best of the British back in fifth. Two of the other Mullins mares pulled up.

Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Results

Racing results from Cheltenham on the Tuesday of the Festival also now include a juvenile handicap hurdle registered as the Fred Winter in memory of another legendary trainer. First run in 2005, this race is an alternative for horses aged four thought not quite good enough to compete in the Triumph Hurdle later on in the meeting. Until 2021, this was run on Ladies Day instead.

Position Horse Jockey Trainer Distance SP

3rd Ndaawi Jack Kennedy Gordon Elliott 5½ lengths 12/1
4th Harsh Conor Stone-Walsh [5] Joseph O’Brien 3½ lengths 40/1

Despite a drift in the market, Lark In The Mornin shed his maiden tag by landing the Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle up the stands rail by a couple of lengths. He beat the outsider of the lot with 80/1 shot Eagles Reign just holding on to second from joint topweight Ndaawi. Harsh was fourth for the Joseph O’Brien stable, who also saddled the winner. Milan Tino, a relatively warm favourite, could only finish sixth behind Miss Manzor.

Maureen Mullins National Hunt Chase Results

The Cheltenham races results do not come much more historic than the National Hunt Chase, which dates back even before the Festival in 1860. A novice chase for amateur riders, the race distance changed from 4m to 3m 6f in 2020.

Paying attention to Cheltenham odds is important here as this race produced a dual subsequent Grand National winner in Tiger Roll in 2017. The National Hunt Chase made Cheltenham its permanent home in 1911 and racehorse owner Ronnie Bartlett has a particularly good recent record in this race with three winners carrying his colours since 2018.

2nd Mulryan silks Embassy Gardens Patrick Mullins Willie Mullins 8½ lengths 7/4F

After running out at the final flight in last year’s Albert Bartlett and being so unfortunate to unseat when another horse jumped into him the last day, Corbetts Cross had some good luck for once and routed a small field in the National Hunt Chase. Embassy Gardens was backed into favourite, but his jumping didn’t stand up to the rigours of this long distance race. Mister Vango was back in third, but the Mullins family enjoyed a 1-2 in a race that honoured late matriarch Maureen.

Cheltenham Day 2 Results

More Cheltenham results on Wednesday of the Festival for you now. This is the traditional Ladies Day, where the 2m Queen Mother Champion Chase is the feature race. There are four more Grade 1 Cheltenham results day 2 brings you. Kicking the card off is the 2m 5f Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle and 3m Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase. Of all Cheltenham day 2 results, the latter event has the most significance for Gold Cup odds and the future. The Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle, meanwhile, is always wide open on what they now call Style Wednesday.

Following the Champion Chase, the most unique race and Cheltenham results Wednesday has to offer is the 3m 6f Cross Country Chase. Horses jumps a variety of obstacles including banks, ditches and hedges as well as traditional hurdles and fences. Later on is the Grand Annual Chase and the Champion Bumper, a National Hunt Flat race, rounds off the list of Cheltenham results day 2 and the card. See all of these race by race below:

Baring Bingham / Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle Results

Irish trainers have dominated Cheltenham race results in this particular contest in recent years with Willie Mullins saddling a record five winners. Watch out for even more Cheltenham betting offers with the Ballymore.

Broadway / Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase Results

Studying Cheltenham full results of the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase, also known as the Festival Novices Chase, registered as the Broadway Novices Chase and best remembered as the RSA Chase is very important. This race is effectively a trial for potential Gold Cup horses of the future, so you can pick up some Cheltenham tips for next year here.

Arkle is by far the most famous winner of the contest. However, some other big name horses took this on their ascent to greatness too including Florida Pearl, Looks Like Trouble, Denman, Albertas Run, Bobs Worth and Lord Windermere. British staying chasers have a good recent record thanks to the likes of Blaklion, Might Bite, Topofthegame, Champ and L’Homme Presse.

It was a small field with every single one of the six runners making mistakes at some stage. Fact To File stayed on strongest, however, to land the spoils from fellow Irish raider Monty’s Star and Scottish-trained horse Giovinco back in third. Leading British hope Stay Away Fay, friendless in the market, was pulled up.

Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle Results

Since its introduction at the Festival in 1993, Cheltenham results today in racing tell us that no horse has won the Coral Cup more than once. A fiendishly competitive Premier Handicap hurdle over 2m 5f, trainer Nicky Henderson has done particularly well in this race in recent years. Even though mares don’t receive the same benefits as in conditions races here, all Cheltenham betting sites know they also have a good record of late here.

No horse had ever won the Coral Cup more than once, so Langer Dan made history landing back-to-back runnings off exactly the same mark. He came wide around field and stormed clear up the hill to retain his crown for trainer-jockey brother Dan and Harry Skelton. Topweight Ballyadam was second ahead of fellow Irish runner Shanbally Kid with the Nicky Henderson novice Lucky Place staying on strongly in an eye-catching fourth from the rear.

Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase Results

Another of the most important Cheltenham Festival results is the Queen Mother Champion Chase. The greatest two-milers over fences are all on the roll of honour here. First held in 1959, Fortria and Flyingbolt helped this race quickly establish is significance and prestige. Crisp is another famous early winner of the Champion Chase, while Royal Relief, Skymas and Hilly Way all victorious twice in the 1970s.

Altior is a four-time Festival winner according to Cheltenham results

Badsworth Boy’s hat-trick in the mid-1980s remains a record here. Viking Flagship, Moscow Flyer, Master Minded, Sprinter Sacre, Altior and Energumene are all dual modern Queen Mother Champion Chase winners, so multiple successes are quite common in the division. Keep that in mind Cheltenham race results today and the Queen Mother Champion Chase odds are clearly influenced by the previous year’s edition of this race, so careful study is important.

In another dramatic edition of the Queen Mother Champion Chase, the long odds-on favourite El Fabiolo had to be pulled up after five fences and an error-strewn display of jumping. Profiting from this was Captain Guinness, twice placed over course and distance including in this race 12 months ago, who lasted up the hill holding Gentleman De Mee by a length and a tail. With Edwardstone falling two out, Elixir De Nutz also pulling up, and Boothill and Jonbon non-runners, rank outsider Funambule Sivola came home under his own steam in a distant third and last to finish.

Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase Results – ABANDONED IN 2024

Racing results at the Cheltenham Festival don’t get any more unique than the Cross Country Chase. This special race that tests the ability of horses jumping obstacles of different heights, types and widths has been made famous by three-time winner and dual Grand National hero Tiger Roll.

It was first introduced to the Festival programme in 2005 and splits the opinions of punters. Originally a handicap, the Cross Country became a conditions race in 2016. Tiger Roll had three wins and two seconds in this event, making him the ultimate horse for this test.

Grand Annual Chase Results

The oldest race among Cheltenham Festival results today is the Grand Annual Chase. Now also named in honour of Johnny Henderson, the father of top British jumps trainer Nicky Henderson, this event dates way back to 1834. Returning to Cheltenham in 1913, it is one of the most competitive two-mile handicap chases in the UK. The Grand Annual is now run on the Old Course instead of the more galloping New Course.

Having tried further at Cheltenham plenty of times in the past without success, dropping Unexpected Party back to two miles for the Grand Annual Chase paid off as the Skeltons enjoyed a Premier Handicap double. He held off Welsh runner Libberty Hunter with the pair clear of Irish raiders Path D’Oroux and favourite Fureur.

Weatherbys Champion Bumper Results

When it comes to Cheltenham horse racing results today that have a big say on the future, the Champion Bumper is always form to follow. A National Hunt Flat race, the horses race without jumping any obstacles.

In time, they may return to future Festival and tackle hurdle races and steeplechases. Only younger horses, those aged four to six can compete in the Champion Bumper. You won’t see any older animals among Cheltenham horse results here in this particular race.

Cheltenham Results Day 3

With Cheltenham Thursday results, this card is often an unofficial St Patrick’s Day. Expect an Irish invasion both on and off the track. The first of the Cheltenham day 3 results is a Grade 1 novice chase with a registered title that recognised 1930s equine great Golden Miller. The Pertemps Final, meanwhile, is a 3m Grade 3 handicap hurdle that ends a series of qualifying races throughout the UK and Ireland.

One thing that makes Cheltenham results on day 3 special is there are not one but two feature races. The first of those in the 2m 4f Ryanair Chase. Following that, another of the big Thursday Cheltenham results is the 3m Stayers’ Hurdle. There are then a couple of handicaps in the Plate and Kim Muir either side of the Grade 2 Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. View all the latest Cheltenham day 3 results here:

Turners Novices’ Chase Results

Registered as the Golden Miller Novices’ Chase, but run as the JLT Novices’ Chase, Marsh Novices’ Chase and now the Turners Novices’ Chase, this extended 2m 3f race opens the Cheltenham St Patrick’s Thursday card. Famous past winners include Sir Des Champs, Vautour, Defi Du Seuil and Bob Olinger. The horse racing Cheltenham results from this event will only grow in stature as time goes by as it was only added to the Festival in 2011.

Grey Dawning reversed past course form with Ginny’s Destiny under a superb Harry Skelton ride as trainer brother Dan saddled his third winner of the meeting. Sent off joint-favourite and as strong stayer at the trip, good jumps at the final two fences sealed victory. The front two pulled clear of outsider Djelo as the British had a 1-2-3. Facile Vega, the other joint-favourite, ran poorly and could only manage seventh.

Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle Results

Known previously as the Coral Golden Hurdle Final, the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle helped launch the career of Forgive ‘N Forget in 1983. He returned to the Festival for Cheltenham Gold Cup glory two years later.

This is a fiendishly tricky puzzle where results from Cheltenham today may not be as expected. Like any Festival Premier Handicap, there are turnups with horses running in a series of Qualifiers across the UK and Ireland, needing a top four finish to gain entry.

Failed chaser Monmiral got his career back on track with first-time blinkers working a treat as Paul Nicholls finally got in on the act at the Cheltenham Festival. He reeled in the front-running Kyntara with favourite Cuthbert Dibble keeping on into third just ahead of Nicky Henderson’s Bold Endeavour. Emitom and Gowel Road rounded out the first six, who were all trained in Britain.

Ryanair Chase Results

The first of the really big Cheltenham Thursday results is the Ryanair Chase. Registered as the Festival Trophy, this race is an alternative to the Champion Chase for horses who stay further. It is also an option for Gold Cup contenders that may not get the longer trip. Added to the Festival programme in 2005, only Albertas Run and Allaho to date have won this race more than once.

In more recent years, Cue Card, Un De Sceaux, Frodon and Min have added real quality to the Ryanair Chase roll of honour. Horse racing results at Cheltenham today include an increasingly prestigious penultimate card for the Festival because of the introduction of this race. Look out for Ryanair Chase betting offers and deals too.

Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle Results

The most historic of Thursday Cheltenham results is the Stayers’ Hurdle. Called the World Hurdle for a decade between 2005 and 2015 when Ladbrokes sponsored the race, Paddy Power now partner the contest. First held in 1912, there is a gap in the lineage of the Stayers’ Hurdle from 1954 to 1971. Its modern renewals are best known for the exploits of four-time race winner Big Buck’s. Inglis Drever, Baracouda and Flooring Porter are other multiple winners in recent times.

Cheltenham results say Big Buck's won the Stayers Hurdle four times

Cheltenham full results show a number of big priced outsiders winning this since 1993 with 20/1, 40/1 and even 50/1 shots defying those big prices. Upsets happen in the Stayers’ Hurdle odds from time to time, especially in years where the market has an open feel to it. Many recent winners have been double figure prices, so consider that with Cheltenham racing results from yesterday and yesteryear here.

An extended 2m 4f Premier Handicap chase, originally run as the Mildmay of Flete, is another of the results from Cheltenham today where touches have been landed. Staying on from well back were Life In The Park and In Excelsis Deo. Theatre Man, who was sent off favourite, departed early.

Ryanair Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle Results

The only horse to win the Champion Hurdle and Gold Cup in Festival, Dawn Run has a race that remembers her heroic Cheltenham performances. It’s a novice hurdle for mares over almost 2m 1f. Most of the past Cheltenham horse racing results here show Willie Mullins as training the winner. Introduced for the 2016 Festival, he saddled the first five successful in the Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.

Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore split the top two in the betting with JP McManus runner Birdie Or Bust nabbing third.

Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase Results

The last of Cheltenham horse results on the Thursday of the Festival comes from an amateur riders’ handicap chase. This race over 3m 2f remembers both Kim Muir, a legendary Corinthian in the saddle and training great Fulke Walwyn. Introduced at Cheltenham after the end of the Second World War, Nicolaus Silver won this en route to Grand National glory in 1961. Ballabriggs, successful here in 2010, went on to win the world’s most famous steeplechase the following year.

He shot clear of Git Maker, who was home well in front of Whacker Clan and Where It All Began. The field was no match for Gavin Cromwell’s JP McManus handicap blot and topweight.

Cheltenham Day 4 Results

And so to the Cheltenham Friday results at last. This is Gold Cup day and the Festival comes to a close with another terrific card. Beginning the Cheltenham day 4 results is the Triumph Hurdle, the top race for juvenile hurdlers in Britain. The County Hurdle, a handicap over the same course and distance, follows before the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle tests the stamina of the horses running in it.

Cheltenham Friday results are all about the Gold Cup itself really. This is the blue riband event of steeplechases over an extended 3m 2f. Amateur jockeys again get a chance to shine in the Festival Open Hunters’ Chase. The newest results at Cheltenham is the 2m4f Mares’ Chase. Rounding off the meeting every years is the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys Handicap Hurdle. Here are the last few Cheltenham Festival results to note:

JCB Triumph Hurdle Results

Past racing results at Cheltenham show Persian War, Kribensis, Commanche Court, Katchit and Tiger Roll among famous Triumph Hurdle winners. Only four-year-olds can compete in the race, first held in 1939, so these are young horses with huge potential for the future. Runners must be forward in their development and often want much further than the extended two miles of this race when they’re older. Keep an eye on betting promotions and Cheltenham race results here with the future in mind, then. Recent winners include Defi Du Seuil, Burning Victory, Vauban and Lossiemouth, while Nicky Henderson has a record seven successes in this event.

BetMGM County Hurdle Results

Once upon a time, the final Cheltenham Festival racing results was those of the County Hurdle. However, that all changed in 2009 almost 90 years after its inauguration in 1920. It has been the second race on the Gold Cup card ever since. No horse has managed to win the County Hurdle more than once, showing you how tough it is to repeat in Festival Premier Handicaps. The latest stroke of genius from Mullins saw him train Ebor Handicap hero Absurde to victory in Europe’s richest Flat handicap last summer and County Hurdle glory in spring, via a trip Down Under for a crack at the Melbourne Cup. A masterful Paul Townend saw him pounce on favourite L’Eau Du Sud with the front two clear of last year’s second Pied Piper in third. There was a scramble for the minor money with a nose and short-head separating that one from Magical Zoe and front-runner Afadil. It pays to follow the Mullins and Dan Skelton stable in the County Hurdle, that’s for sure!

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle Results

Introduced at the Festival in 2005, the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (registered as the Spa Novices’ Hurdle) is a 3m contest. Previous Cheltenham races results are directly relevant here as there are graded trials for this event both at other meetings at the venue and around the UK and Ireland.

It takes stamina and ability to win this Grade 1. Past horse racing results from Cheltenham show subsequent Gold Cup winners Bobs Worth and Minella Indo victorious in this before scaling event greater heights over fences.

Cheltenham Gold Cup Results

It almost goes without saying that the Cheltenham Gold Cup results are the most important of all races at the Festival. More prestigious than the Grand National, this event dates back to 1924, so it’s a century of history, glory and drama. Golden Miller won it five times in the 1930s but the Postwar greats like Cottage Rake and Arkle really put the Gold Cup on the map. Cheltenham results yesterday can impact tomorrow in this blue riband steeplechase.

Best Mate is a modern era Gold Cup great, matching Arkle’s 1960s pomp with his own hat-trick in the early 2000s. Cheltenham results today in racing owe their significance in the whole sport due to legendary clashes here. Some of the finest horses to have ever graced the track enjoyed Gold Cup glory like Desert Orchid, Kauto Star and many more. Al Boum Photo is the latest multiple winner of the race. Racing results from Cheltenham and its Festival don’t come any grander than this.
