Progeny of Starapngledbanner have a solid record when making their juvenile debut on turf, landing 32 of their 209 starts (15.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £43.11 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 21.03, A/E = 1.52). Aidan O’Brien’s ALFRED TENNYSON fits the bill and can make a winning start to his career.

LAS RAMBLAS (system – Newcastle AW debut winners, second time out)
All-weather form still tends to be underrated by the betting markets and siding with Newcastle debut winners on their second career start would have found 54 winners from 163 bets (33.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £24.60 (expected winners = 43.45, A/E = 1.24). Roger Varian’s LAS RAMBLAS scored narrowly at Gosford Park on his debut back in February and can defy a wide draw in this 1m2f novice contest.

Since the beginning of 2018, in-form Rod Millman is 14 from 91 with his handicap debutants for a profit of £59.65 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 7.63, A/E = 1.83). The colts and geldings were eight from 37 (+£72.25) and PENALTY SHOOTOUT, the mount of Oisin Murphy, looks set to take a huge step forward in this 1m2f handicap after his 200-1 seventh of eight in a 7f Kempton novice contest last time.
