The Premier League have revealed the five nominations for the 2023/24 Manager of the Season award.

After releasing the nominees for both the Player of the Season award and Young Player of the Season award, the Premier League have announced the shortlist for the campaign’s best manager.

The award recognises the outstanding contributions of top-flight managers throughout the Premier League season.

The esteemed shortlist comprises:

  1. Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)
  2. Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)
  3. Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)
  4. Unai Emery (Aston Villa)
  5. Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth)

Pep Guardiola, a four-time recipient of the award, including last season, has masterminded Manchester City’s title charge with his trademark brand of expansive football.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp, a two-time winner, has once again showcased his managerial prowess, steering Liverpool towards a somewhat unexpected title challenge.

Mikel Arteta, yet to claim the accolade, emerges as a strong contender as he leads Arsenal to the summit of the Premier League table, poised for a title challenge in the final weeks of the season.

Unai Emery’s remarkable performance as Aston Villa manager has earned him a deserved nomination. The Spaniard took charge of Villa in October 2022 with the club sitting in 16th place. Now, he’s on the verge of taking them to the Champions League with a top-four finish.

Completing the shortlist is Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola – the fourth Spaniard to be nominated. During his impressive debut season in England, he has navigated the Cherries through a challenging start to elevate them into the top half of the table.

Notably, Bournemouth only secured their first win of the season under Iraola against Burnley on October 23rd, marking a significant turning point in their campaign.

Since then, only Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa have gained more points than Iraola’s team.
