Football fans on X, formerly Twitter, have reacted hilariously after seeing Scott McKenna thwart Erling Haaland in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
The FC Copenhagen defender – on loan from Nottingham Forest – put in a solid display to stop the Norwegian star from getting on the score sheet in the first-leg round of 16 clash.
McKenna has only been with the Danish champions since January after agreeing a temporary switch away from the Premier League strugglers.

Scott McKenna and the UEFA Champions League aren’t two terms you would typically see in the same sentence, but here we are.
The Nottingham Forest defender saw his time at the City Ground come to a grinding halt. He was reportedly banished from the first-team over a contract dispute.
In the winter transfer window, FC Copenhagen came calling and the Scottish international didn’t hesitate about joining the Danish champions.
Not only did he have the opportunity to start playing regularly again, but an unlikely chance to play in Europe’s elite competition sealed the deal.
McKenna put in a strong and sturdy display to stop Erling Haaland scoring or laying on an assist. Some of the world’s finest defenders can’t say the same when facing the Manchester City star.
However, McKenna was part of the Forest side that got battered 6-0 by City at the Etihad Stadium in August 2022. Haaland rattled in a first-half hat-trick that day.
The return leg in March will pit McKenna and Haaland together again. It’ll be another intriguing battle between an unlikely duo in the the biggest club competition in world football.
