Andrew heads to the all-weather fixtures at Lingfield and Wolverhampton for his three stats-based selections on Friday, January 26th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below..
LINGFIELD 1.27
LAVENDER HILL MOB (system – Expert Eye, last-time out winners)
Progeny of the sire Expert Eye tend to hold their form well and have a solid record when bidding to follow up a win. Optik’s 10-11 success at Newcastle yesterday evening took the score to 19 winners from 64 bets for a profit of £6.43 to a £1 level stake at SP, including nine from 21 on the all-weather. LAVENDER HILL MOB won with plenty in hand at Lingfield on his latest outing and is likely to prove hard to beat.
WOLVERHAMPTON 5.15
DAKOTA POWER (system – damsire Haafhd, 3yo+, 7f+, Flat)
Since racing resumed after lockdown in the summer of 2020, three-year-old and older horses with Haafhd as their damsire, who were running over 7f or further on the Flat, have an 85 from 577 record (14.9%) for a huge profit of £203.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. Omitting the fillies and colts improves the strike-rate further and Roger Teal’s gelding DAKOTA POWER looks interesting in this 7f Class 6 handicap. The five-year-old emerged clear best of those to race up with the strong early pace when a half-length third over course and distance last time, taking his full course record to 133333 (1-6).
WOLVERHAMPTON 6.15
STREAMLINE (system – Linda Perratt, all-weather)
In-form Linda Perratt has a cracking recent record on the all-weather, scoring with 20 of her 69 runners since the beginning of last year for a profit of ÂŁ78.75 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP expected winners = 11.03, A/E = 2.23). STREAMLINE would have needed his comeback run after 527 days off the track when a 33-1 eighth of ten over 5f here earlier this month and the return to 6f will suit. His most recent run over this trip on Tapeta saw him finish fourth of 14 in a Class 2 handicap at Newcastle when rated 97 and he runs off 81 tonight.
