The Hammers are back in action after their historic victory against Arsenal in GW19 of the Premier League. Goals from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos were enough to secure a 2-0 win against their London rivals – despite a missed penalty from Said Benhrama.
David Moyes’ side have now won four of their last five league matches, beating Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal along the way.
The club from east London have also proved their worth in the Europa League, topping their group and now wait for their round of 16 opponents to be drawn.
Their opponents on Tuesday 2nd January are also coming off a huge victory, as Brighton dominated Spurs in a 4-2 victory.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men were 4-0 up thanks to a Jack Hinshelwood opener, a brace of Joao Pedro penalties and a Pervis Estupinan wonder strike.
Prior to this win, the Seagulls had been without a win in their previous three league matches and have drifted to seven points from the Top Four.
Brighton have also failed to keep a clean sheet in the league this season, a statistic that will worry their supporters but make for great viewing if you’re a West Ham fan!
The Hammers will be confident going to the match, as they won the reverse fixture back in August – beating the Seagulls 3-1 at the Amex Stadium in August.
