Ange Postecoglou could end up with an unwanted record if West Ham beat Tottenham. This record has been untouched since 2008 making it 15 years old.
What record could Postecoglou break?
Postecoglou could be the first manager in 15 years to face three consecutive top-flight home defeats.
It’s been quite a ride for Postecoglou since joining Tottenham in the summer. He enjoyed a three month unbeaten run in the Premier League whilst also picking up Manager of the Month three times in a row.
Tragedy struck for the Australian manager with injuries and suspensions and his side haven’t won since October in a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace. Three consecutive defeats and a draw followed that win but Tottenham will be hoping they can but the winless run to bed with a win over West Ham.
West Ham’s form
The Hammers go to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on a bit of good form; seven points from their last three games.
David Moyes’ men have already qualified for the next stage of the Europa League with one game remaining and he’ll now be focusing on the League until things get back up and running in the Europa League in February.
Moyes has said West Ham are near their best from a couple of seasons ago but still need to improve. He branded last season ‘not good enough’ despite winning the Europa Conference League. He said: “We are only a couple of points behind where we were a couple of years ago, but there are loads of things we can do better. We want to do that in the second half of the season.”
Success in Europe meant less success in the league for West Ham. They finished 14th in the table last season and Moyes will not be wanting a repeat.
West Ham are also still in the Carabao Cup but face a tricky quarter-final as they travel to Anfield to play Liverpool on the 20th December.
Where can I watch Tottenham V West Ham?
Tottenham V West Ham will be broadcasted on Prime Video on Thursday 7th December at 8:15pm.
Spurs will stay in 5th with a win unless they beat West Ham 11-0 which would lead them to overtake Manchester City on goal difference.
West Ham would also stay in 9th with a win; a point behind Brighton.
