The Templegate best bet of the day. Another Paul Nicholls-trained horse that hit the crossbar last time here with a close second. Up 6lbs for that is a tad harsh but in this better grade will have 5lbs less racing weight to carry. Harry Cobden rides.

The feature race of the day and the Sun’s main horse racing tipster feels the Nicky Henderson mare Marie’s Rock, who has won 50% of her 14 starts over hurdles, can land the Long Distance Hurdle. She gets weight all round from the rest here and despite taking on some useful old-timers, including the 2019 winner of this race Paisley Park, brings solid form to the race. Last seen running a fine second in the Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree when upped in trip for the first time and a repeat of that run would see her hard to beat.

This Dan Skelton runner is the next best bet on the day for the Templegate tips. He blew away the cobwebs last time at Chepstow with a fair third (of 16) and with that run coming off a 241-day break will strip much fitter this time. Into a handicap here for the first time too will help and after staying on well over 2m 3 1/2f last time out the step up in trip looks a sensible move from connections.
