Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is set to be ruled out until the new year after suffering a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw with champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The Brazilian went down holding the back of his right leg in the closing stages of the match and he will likely miss several games with his hamstring injury, including the fixture against Manchester United on December 17th.

Every Liverpool Game Alisson Will Miss With His Hamstring Injury Including Man United

Liverpool have some huge fixtures coming up as the festive period edges ever closer, and boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping the expected lengthy absence of Alisson won’t hurt them too much. These are the games the Reds No.1 is set to miss:

  • (H) LASK – UEL – 30/11/2023
  • (H) Fulham – PL – 03/12/2023
  • (A) Sheffield Utd – PL 06/12/2023
  • (A) Crystal Palace – PL – 09/12/2023
  • (A) Union SG -UEL – 14/12/2023
  • (H) Man Utd – PL – 17/12/2023
  • (H) West Ham – LC – 20/12/2023
  • (H) Arsenal – PL – 23/12/2023
  • (A) Burnley – PL – 26/12/2023
  • (H) Newcastle – PL – 01/01/2024

Who Will Replace Alisson In Goal?

Liverpool will now have to decide between Caoimhín Kelleher or 36-year old veteran Adrian to go in between the sticks for the upcoming fixtures. Kelleher has played in three of Liverpool’s four UEFA Europa League games this season and both League Cup fixtures. On the strength of that alone, it’s more than likely the Irishman will be given the nod over Adrian.

However, the Spanish goalkeeper does have more overall experience than Kelleher and has kept 7 clean sheets in his 26 appearances since signing for the Reds in 2019, but his lack of game time this season will perhaps hinder his chances of stepping in.

Liverpool’s Record Without Alisson

Liverpool’s record without Alisson in goal has still been relatively impressive. Of the 17 Premier League games he has been absent for, the Reds have won 12 of those fixtures, drawing three and losing just twice, conceding 24 times across those 17 matches.

In Europe, Alisson has missed a total of nine games across the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League and the Reds have won five times across both competitions. 12 goals were shipped in those fixtures.

After the draw with Manchester City, the best UK betting sites have Liverpool priced at 11/2 to go on and win the 2023/24 Premier League title.
