Jonny Clayton Players Championship Finals Odds
World number nine Jonny Clayton heads into the Players Championship Finals off the back of a group stage exit at the Grand Slam of Darts, with “The Ferret” rated as a longshot for the title by UK bookmakers.
Clayton won his opening Grand Slam match against Berry van Peer, but followed that up with defeats to Chris Dobey and Josh Rock, condemning him to a first round exit from the tournament.
The 49-year-old is suffering a tough period in his career following the death of his father, but has still managed to win three events this year – including the World Cup of Darts alongside countryman Gerwyn Price.
Clayton came close to glory at last year’s edition of the tournament, beating John O’Shea, Ross Smith, Ryan Joyce and Callan Rydz on his road to the semi-final, before losing to eventual runner-up Rob Cross to finish in the top four.
“The Ferret” will be desperate for a strong showing this time around to build some confidence and hopefully regain his memorable form from 2021, and if you think he’s got a chance at lifting the title come Sunday – you can back him to do so at 30/1 with BetMGM.
