Luke Humphries Players Championship Finals Odds
There’s no surprise seeing Luke Humphries as the outright favourite for the darts Players Championship Finals given his exhilarating form.
“Cool Hand Luke” became only the third darts player in history to complete the Grand Prix/Grand Slam of Darts double last weekend. The 28-year-old stormed to a 16-8 victory over Rob Cross to lift back-to-back major titles – the first two in his career just 43 days apart. Only Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen are the other two to do the same.
If Luke Humphries can go all the way again, he will smash the record for the shortest gap between a player’s first and third PDC major singles titles.
Jonny Clayton currently holds the record with 251 days, but should ‘Cool Hand’ win his third consecutive major, he will have done so in a mere 49 days.
After impressing so much in the last 18 months in European Tour tournaments and in Players Championship events, a major title was always just around the corner for Humphries. He is also the market leader for the World Darts Championship, which gets underway in December.
Humphries achieved his deepest run in this tournament last year when he made the semi-finals, but he lost out to MVG that day, who went on to win it all. Having advanced into the final four, he has every chance to take home the trophy this time around. His current odds are 22/25 with BetMGM.
