BANKER: 2:45 Fakenham: REGARDE 10/11
Winning Pointer for the Jamie Snowden yard that got off the mark under rules the last day at Huntingdon. Got the job done there by an impressive 6 1/2 lengths and despite being hiked 6lbs for that success looks worth sticking with having just two rivals to take on today.
LAY OF THE DAY: 3:45 LLANDINABO LAD 11/4
Trappy little race with just five runners, but the likely favourite from the Tom Symonds camp looks worth opposing. This 8 year-old has won just two of his 18 starts, but more importantly is yet to record a success over fences (6 runs). Yes, this is a drop in grade, but as a result has a big weight of 12st to carry on ground that is going to be testing. Add in the fact he’s now without a win now in 13 races, which dates back to November 2020 – makes him vulnerable on a tight track he’s never raced at.
STAT HORSE: 3.15: Fakenham: SAWPIT SIENNA 9/2 (e/w)
Won this race last year and is back for more with a good-looking chance. This would have been a clear target again and it’s also worth noting that BetMGM are offing this contest as an each-way+ race – meaning the horse can be supported for the first four places. Rated 6lbs higher this time, but this 8 year-old also warmed up for her defence with a run at Worcester last month, which would have her spot-on, while the softer ground and longer trip are fine.
