Eddie Nketiah and Fikayo Tomori have both been left out of England’s squad for their upcoming Euro qualifier against Italy, with Gareth Southgate limited to 23 players.
Tomori And Nketiah Left At Home
After both featuring in England’s win over Australia last week, Eddie Nketiah and Fikayo Tomori have both been left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming Euro qualifier against Italy.
Nketiah made his first appearance for the Three Lions senior team last week, featuring off the bench in place of Ollie Watkins for the closing stages of England’s win.
Tomori played for an hour against Australia, with the AC Milan defender impressing with his solid performance at the back against a persistent Socceroos side.
Despite encouraging showings from both players on Friday night, Gareth Southgate was forced to drop the pair with only 23 players allowed to feature in a Euro qualifier.

England’s Euro qualifier against Italy is still an important game, as the Three Lions need a win to qualify for the Euros in Germany 2024.
Arsenal face Chelsea on Saturday afternoon in what is set to be a thrilling match at Stamford Bridge, so Nketiah will return home to London to continue his preparations for the London derby.
Tomori also has a huge game on the horizon for AC Milan, as the Serie A leaders face third place Juventus an Sunday evening at the San Siro.
