Philippe Clement has been announced as the new Rangers manager following the sacking of Michael Beale earlier this month after the side made a poor start to the season.

Philippe Clement Confirmed As New Rangers Boss

The Ex-Club Brugge and Monaco manager takes over from Beale who lost his job a couple of weeks ago.

Clement has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Ibrox which will run until 2027, just a few months after he was sacked by Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The Belgian was speaking for the first time since arriving at Rangers: “I am honoured to have been appointed as the new manager of Rangers Football Club and I’d like to thank the board for giving me this opportunity.

“I am hugely excited by this chance to achieve success at one of Europe’s most iconic clubs across four competitions in what remains of this season and beyond.

“I am looking forward to meeting with the players in the coming days and to meeting our supporters at next Saturday’s home match with Hibernian, as we set out together to create a successful, winning Rangers.”

Clement will take charge of his first Gers game next Saturday (21st October) when they welcome Hibs to Ibrox.

The new boss’ playing style could prove to be dangerous in the SPL as he relies heavily on width from full-backs so Rangers captain James Tavernier will be pivotal in the side.

There was plenty of names rumoured to be of interest from Rangers in the running for the job. Kevin Muscat was high on the list but is remaining in Japan.

Former Premier League managers Scott Parker and Frank Lampard were also on the shortlist.
