West Ham United are currently leading the race to sign AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw, but face competition from Real Madrid who are also very interested in signing the young talent.

Hammers Targeting Milan Star Malick Thiaw

The German defender has recently established himself as one of Milan’s most important players and whilst it it yet to be known if the Serie A side will allow him to leave, he is not short of sides interested in signing him.

West Ham have made a solid start to the new season and David Moyes is keen on adding further depth and quality to his squad.

The 22-yard is highly regarded by Milan and they would be looking to make a large profit on him, considering they only paid just over £8.5million for him in 2022.

Despite plenty of interest for the Germany international, the Hammers look the most likely to land the signing and are hoping to start talks with Milan’s representatives ahead of the January transfer window.

Kurt Zouma could leave the Irons in the winter and Thiaw would be a welcome replacement for the 28-year-old.

Thiaw’s versatility is an exciting prospect for any club with his ability to operate as both a central defender and a full-back.

A move to the Premier League this winter could be the perfect move for the Milan defender, who looks to cement his spot in the German national team ahead of next summer’s Euro 2024.

The former Shalke youth player has made two senior appearances for Germany after representing them 11 times at U21 level.

West Ham currently sit seventh in the Premier League and have made the perfect start to their Europa League campaign with two wins from two games so far.
