Newcastle United are set to go in for out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe in January in a bid to bolster their squad that has been riddled with injuries so far this season.
Emile Smith Rowe Targeted By Newcastle Ahead Of January Transfer Window
Smith Rowe has been linked with a move away from the Emirates in recent weeks and months and was high on Chelsea’s list in the summer amongst other Premier League sides. However, it is now Newcastle who are heavily interested in the 23-year-old and could pounce in January.
He spent much of last season injured and didn’t see much game time, and has found himself in a similar position so far this campaign, making just two appearances for the club in the Premier League up to now.
After making a full recovery from his groin injury over the summer, he played a vital role in England’s European Under-21 Championship win where he grabbed two goals and an assist.
He arrived back at Arsenal after the tournament in Romania and Georgia hoping to get some first team action, but opportunities have been limited so far this season.

According to reports, Newcastle see this as a chance to bring Smith Rowe in during the winter transfer window and are preparing to start talks with club officials in the coming weeks.
The Arsenal midfielder spent eight years in the Gunners academy before making his breakthrough to the first team in 2018 and has gone on to make over 100 appearances for the side.
In that period he has registered 18 goals and 11 assists, which are not the most encouraging numbers but it is worth noting that he has struggled with injury issues for a large part of that journey.
The Gunners are said to want at least £50million for the Hale End Academy graduate, if they were to allow him to leave.
