Inter Miami are reportedly willing to negotiate with Barcelona over a possible loan move for Argentinian superstar, Lionel Messi, after rumours of a possible reunion circulate.

The MLS side will ‘respect the wishes’ of their star name, by negotiating with Barcelona over a possible loan deal – if both parties are keen to make the move happen.

Inter Miami signed the former PSG player in the summer, after an underwhelming spell in Paris that even resulted in the player being suspended for an unauthorised absence.

Since signing for the American side, Messi has made 13 appearances and contributed to 16 goals (11 goals & 5 assists) showing his capability despite being 36-years-old.

The Argentinian has even won his first trophy, as Inter Miami beat SC Nashville in the MLS Cup final back in August – with Messi scoring during the 90 minutes.

However, rumours over a possible loan move to Barcelona have started to circulate, after he had been linked with a return to Nou Camp during the summer.

Barcelona clinched the La Liga title last season, beating fierece rivals, Real Madrid, by a whopping 11 points and added some huge names in the following window.

Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix, Inigo Martinez and Ilkay Gundogan all joined the club, however, one man that was set to return but instead opted for a move to the MLS was Lionel Messi.

The club were unable to complete the signing due to financial restrictions, which may still be in place, however, a loan deal with a compromise on salary could make the switch viable.

Barcelona manager Xavi has is reportedly open to a move for his former teammate, meaning a loan move in the January window is likely – similar to David Beckham’s loan to AC Milan from LA Galaxy all those years ago.
