Mohammed Kudus scored his first Premier League goal for West Ham to snatch a point in the final moments of their 2-2 draw with Newcastle.
Tomas Soucek ended Newcastle’s 297 minute run – the longest spell without conceding this season – inside the opening ten minutes for his 26th West Ham goal. Michail Antonio (77) and Jarrod Bowen (45) are the only current Hammers players with more.
Alexander Isak hit back with a mean five-minute double around the hour mark to put the visitors in front. The only Premier League player with more goals than him this season is Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
The Swede became the third player from his country to score in three consecutive appearances in the English top-flight after Freddie Ljungberg in 2001/02 and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2016/17.
He has now scored in each of his last four appearances in the league and the reported £60million fee that Newcastle paid for his signature looks a better deal as every week passes.
The Magpies were on the brink of sealing a fairytale week after their 4-1 demolition of PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday, before Kudus spoiled the party with his first domestic goal after 89 minutes.

Newcastle will face a busier period than usual with their new involvement in Europe and according to their January transfer odds, Eddie Howe’s side could look to make a blockbuster move for Cristiano Ronaldo – who is currently playing his football in Saudi Arabia.
They have now gone eight league games without defeat in London for the first time in the club’s history and the result leaves them in eighth after eight games played on 13 points.
West Ham will feel aggrieved with some of the refereeing decisions made but David Moyes’ men are up to seventh, just three points adrift of Liverpool in fourth.
