After an eventful few days for Liverpool, they bounced back from the weekend’s defeat at Tottenham with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Union Saint-Gilloise. Following the result at Anfield, check out the latest Liverpool Europa League odds.

Fresh from the VAR controversy at the weekend, Liverpool headed into the game looking for back-to-back wins in this competition.

The former Bayern Munich man could have had a couple on the night, but was denied on multiple occasions by Saint-Gilloise goalkeeper Anthony Moris.

In a low scoring game at Anfield, there was a special story to report on when Alexis Mac Allister entered the pitch at half-time. This meant he would face his brother, Kevin who plays for the Belgian giants on loan from Argentine side Boca Juniors. This meant the siblings would become the latest brothers to face one another on the field.

Diogo Jota added a late second goal for Liverpool, in an electric counter attack to keep up the side’s 100% record in the competition.

The bout eventually finished 2-0 to the Reds, but Gilloise gave a good account of themselves at one of football’s most iconic stadiums.
