Frankie Dettori Will Ride Free Wind In Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe
Frankie Dettori and trainer John Gosden have teamed up to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe three times since 2015 and they are back for more this Sunday with FREE WIND.
This will also be Frankie’s last ride in Europe’s richest flat race, as he’ll be retiring at the end of this season.
He’s won the race a record breaking 6 times in total and despite Free Wind priced @ 25/1 with the best UK horse racing betting sites, the Italian jockey will be hoping to end his Longchamp career on a high and with another of his famous ‘Frankie Flying Dismounts’.
The good news for Frankie fans too is that Free Wind has been drawn in stall 3 and with 15 of the last 21 Arc winners coming from stalls 6 or lower, this is a big Arc stat in her favour.
Free Wind was also seen running a close second in the Yorkshire Oaks at the end of August – beaten just a head (watch below) – and being a mare will also get a handy 3lbs from the older males in the race.

Frankie Dettori Is The Winning-Most Arc Jockey
No jockey has landed this Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe more times than Frankie Dettori, with 6 wins to his name.
It’s also no secret that this will be the final ride in the race for the pocket Italian jockey after announcing his retirement at the end of this season – with his last race rumoured to be the Melbourne Cup on November 7th.
Dettori’s debut Arc success came back in 1995 with the Epsom Derby winner Lammtarra, with his most recent two wins in 2017 and 2018 on the wonder-mare Enable.
