SportsLens Head of News Lee Astley said: “There’s no surprise that Sheffield United boss Heckingbottom is under pressure already. The side have already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup, and are yet to win a game in the Premier League yet.
“There is talk of Chris Wilder returning to the club he was sacked by in 2021, and the Yorkshire-born coach is a fan favourite at Bramall Lane. He is the evens favourite for the job, if Heckingbottom was to lose his.
“Scott Parker is another coach like Wilder, currently without a job, and he could be the man the Blades turn to. However, his previous jobs at Club Brugge and Bournemouth did not go so well so it could be a risky appointment.
“Neil Warnock announced earlier on this week that he will be leaving Huddersfield after their game against Stoke City on Wednesday. Having being born in Sheffield, Warnock also managed United for eight seasons between 1999 and 2007, his longest tenure at any club. This could be set up perfectly for one final ride before his retirement, so is considered at a big price of 16/1. The 74-year-old has not confirmed if he will take on another challenge yet or retire, so only time will tell regarding his next move.”
