Newcastle Vs Brentford Preview
The Magpies will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend ahead of their return to the Champions League next week, and welcome a Brentford side to St James’ Park who are yet to lose a game so far this season.
Eddie Howe’s men suffered a 3-1 defeat away at Brighton last time out, after successive losses to Liverpool and Manchester City before that. This was all after hammering Aston Villa 5-1 on opening weekend, and the side have not yet been able to back that performance up.
As for Brentford, they most recently drew 2-2 with Bournemouth in their final game before the international break. That was their third draw of the season so far. They have also drawn with Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. Their only win of the season so far in the league came against Fulham (3-0).
The Mags have won their last three games against Brentford, with the latter last beating them in the Carabao Cup back in 2020.
