Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has handed £115m man Moses Caicedo a first start for the Blues against Luton Town on Friday Night Football.

Caicedo in for the injured Carney Chukwuemeka is Pochettino’s only alteration from the Chelsea side that was beaten 3-1 by West Ham United last weekend, as the Blues look to get their first win of the season on the board.

Chukwuemeka has undergone surgery on the knee injury he sustained and the west Londoners are facing a crisis in this department. Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Romeo Lavia also remain on the sidelines.

Rob Edwards has made two changes for the visiting side who fell to a 4-1 defeat in their season opener against Brighton, as Ross Barkley starts against his former club which means Pelly Mpanzu drops to the bench.

The other change is Reece Burke for Mads Juel Andersen at centre-back, who has been named on the substitutes bench after a disappointing team performance on the south coast.
