1:50pm – Sky Bet Lowther Stakes Group 2 6f ITV: RELIEF RALLY @ 15/8 with BetUK
First up for Matt Chapman comes Relief Rally in the opening race of the afternoon on Thursday at the 2023 York Ebor Festival. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with the William Haggas-trained two-year-old as the 15/8 betting favourite with the best horse racing betting sites.
Relief Rally has been crying out for six furlongs and she might well have much more to offer at that distance so should take all the beating. She rattled home in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and was very unlucky to be denied on the line. Then she bolted up in the Super Sprint at Newbury.

Matt Chapman’s second tip on Thursday at York sees him back the Kevin Ryan-trained We Never Stop in the 2:25pm as a 14/1 outside each-way fancy with the best horse racing betting apps.
We Never Stop has valuable experience on this track having been placed twice here and got his act together at Pontefract last time. In seeing off Twilight Romance he suggested there was more to come and blinding early pace is an asset here. Should go well in a very tricky race for Shane Gray and Kevin Ryan.
3:00pm – Clipper Stakes Heritage Handicap 1m ITV: ORBAAN (e/w) @ 12/1 with BetUK
Next up for Matt Chapman is Orbaan each-way in the Clipper Stakes, this time for trainer David O’Meara. The eight-year-old gelding is a 12/1 outsider with the best UK sports betting sites.
Old boy Orbaan might go well here at a price for David O’Meara and Jason Watson. He’s just the type to pop up in a race like this and was a fine fourth last year off a 5lb higher mark. It’s just all about whether he’s in the mood but he’s plenty of track form and is handicapped to run a huge one.
3:35pm – Pertemps Network Yorkshire Oaks (British Champions Series Race) Group 1 1m4f ITV: WARM HEART @ 11/2 with BetUK
Matt Chapman’s penultimate betting tip from the live ITV races from York on Thursday comes in the featured race of the afternoon – the Yorkshire Oaks. ‘Chappers’ is backing Warm Heart for trainer Aidan O’Brien and jockey James Doyle in this one.
Savethelastdance might prefer more juice in the ground and ‘Chappers’ has a feeling Warm Heart will get much closer than she did in the Irish Oaks last time.
On that occasion Warm Heart was never placed to challenge, but she had shown what she can do in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot when Bluestocking was behind. This could be a rare and huge chance for James Doyle to bang in a big one for Coolmore.
4:10pm – British EBF and Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes Listed 1m4f ITV: SEA THEME @ 9/2 with BetUK
Last but not least for the ITV Racing pundit is Sea Theme in the final live ITV race of the afternoon on Day 2 of the York Ebor Festival. Chapman is on side with Sea Theme for trainer William Haggas as they 9/2 joint favourite with the best live betting sites.
It’s interesting that Tom Marquand is on Sea Theme over Market Value. The latter has plenty to find on ratings but gives us an idea that the William Haggas stable hold the recent Doncaster winner in high regard.
The daughter of Sea the Stars stayed on well to score last time and might be even better on this ground as it was soft that day. Open to any amount of improvement.
