Tyler Adams has completed his move to Bournemouth from Leeds United on a five-year deal for a fee in excess of £20million.

Tyler Adams Completes Cherries Move

The American only joined Leeds last summer from RB Leipzig, but finds himself moving on just a year later following the Yorkshire side’s relegation from the Premier League.

Bournemouth’s chief executive Neill Blake was speaking after the move was confirmed.

“To have him sign for AFC Bournemouth shows the ambition we have as a club,” said Cherries chief executive Neill Blake.

“We’re thrilled to have brought Tyler to the club and he is a player we’ve admired for a long time.

“It’s been widely documented how much his talents have been recognised in this transfer window by other clubs.”

Blake added: “Tyler is an exciting player who possesses plenty of experience for someone that is just 24 years of age and we’re looking forward to working with him as he’s a player we know will be a great addition to our squad.”

Adams was closing in on a move to Chelsea, but they pulled out of the deal to prioritise deals for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

The U.S.A captain becomes Andoni Iraola’s seventh summer signing and will likely form a strong partnership with England U20 star Alex Scott, who signed from Bristol City earlier this month.

Bournemouth have also signed Hamed Traore from Sassuolo and Justin Kluivert from Roma. The side started their Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham before losing 3-0 to Liverpool on Saturday.

Iraola’s side have a tricky game against Spurs next weekend, who have started the new season strongly.
