Liverpool have reportedly contacted Wolves over a move for Gabonian international, Mario Lemina, despite the recent signing of Wataru Endo.

The Reds are said to be huge admirers of the former Juventus midfielder, despite signing Endo for around £16m.

Lemina has made 94 appearances in the Premier League, playing for Southampton, Fulham and Wolves, meaning he is well versed to England’s top-flight.

The midfielder started in Gary O’Neil’s opening match at the club, as Wolves put in a surpisingly impressive performance against Manchester United – despite losing 1-0.

During his career, the former Southampton midfielder has won a variety of trophies, picking up two Serie A titles and two Italian Cups. He also won the U20 World Cup with France but has since aligned his commitment to the Gabon national team.

A move to Liverpool may seem unlikely given the recent additions at the club, however, reports suggest that Jurgen Klopp is still keen on adding an additional midfielder to his squad.

This need for midfield signings increased as Fabinho and Jordan Henderson look left the club this summer, moving to Saudi Arabia for a combined £80m.

The red side of Merseyside have endured a difficult season, as Jurgen Klopp’s side failed to qualify for the Champions League and will play Europa League football for the first time in almost six-years.

This has impacted their negotiations in the summer window, as Jude Bellingham looked set to join the Reds, however after failing to qualify for Europe, Klopp’s side were pipped by Real Madrid.

Midfield reinforcements were still the priority for Liverpool this summer, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai moving to Anfield.

Liverpool will need to act swiftly as the Premier League season starts to commence and Lemina has X years remaining on his current deal.
