Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea over the permanent signing of 18-year-old starlet Lewis Hall, with the fee understood to be an initial £28million.

Lewis Hall looks to be heading out of the door at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Newcastle over his permanent departure.

The Magpies have been on the hunt for reinforcements in the left-back position, and now it looks as if Eddie Howe’s wish has been granted.

This comes from The Telegraph‘s Sam Wallace, who claims that an initial fee of £28million has been agreed for the 18-year-old’s transfer.

Of course, Hall agreed a new six-year deal with the Blues just weeks ago, but Newcastle’s offer was reportedly too good for the Chelsea hierarchy to turn down.

Hall was originally meant to depart on loan, with Crystal Palace tipped as the most likely destination, however he now looks set to follow Mason Mount in becoming the second Cobham academy product to depart this summer, whilst Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah have also been earmarked as potential exits.

Since making his maiden appearance for the Blues in 2022, Hall has turned out for his boyhood club on 12 occasions, with nine of those appearances coming in the Premier League.

Although he has mainly operated as a left-wing-back for the senior side, Hall mainly operated as a central midfielder at youth level, and was named Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year in 2022/23.

The youngster is set to become the 15th permanent departure from the club this summer, in what has been another incredibly active window for the two-time Champions League winners.
