1. Alexander Isak (£7.5m)

The Swedish international impressed during his opening campaign, contributing to 12 goals in just 22 Premier League appearances.

At just 23-years-old, Isak is one of the most exciting prospects in England and is set for a huge campaign alongside leading marksman, Callum Wilson.

At £7.5m, the former Real Sociedad striker is £0.5m cheaper than his English counterpart, making him a slightly more appealing option this season.

2. Nick Pope (£5.5m)

Newcastle’s number one has been an instant hit under Eddie Howe, establishing himself as the man between the sticks and earning several international call-ups.

Only Allison Becker and David De Gea managed to better Pope’s clean sheet tally last season, as the former Burnley shot-stopped amassed 13.

3. Kieran Trippier (£6.5m)

Premier League veteran, Kieran Tripper, has been a stellar option for FPL users, even back during his Burnley/Spurs days. The Englishman registered nine assists in the league last season, which makes him a bonus in both defence and attack.

Not only were his assists key for the Magpies last season, the England international ranked highest in points per match for a defender – earning an average of 5.2 per 90.

The only consideration when selecting the former Spurs player is the recent addition of Tino Livramento, who joined the Magpies earlier this week.

4. Harvey Barnes (£6.5m)

The only new addition on this list comes in at fourth, as Harvey Barnes signed from Leicester earlier in the window and could be a key player this season.

Barnes contributed to 15 goals last year, which is an impressive record when you consider the abysmal season Leicester had.

The winger only picked up three yellow cards all season, which is a good sign if FPL users want to avoid minus points all season.

5. Bruno Guimaraes (£6m)

Last on the list is Brazilian international, Bruno Guimaraes, who has become a fan favourite at St James Park since signing from Lyon last summer.

Despite not excelling in a specific ‘FPL’ area last season, the quality the midfielder possess has been clear to see and the addition of Sandro Tonali, should give Guimaraes more freedom this season.
