Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has delivered his prediction for the 2023/24 Premier League table, and he’s backing it to be business as usual for Manchester City with a record-breaking fourth successive league triumph.

Ex-England striker Michael Owen has delivered his prediction for the standings of the 2023/24 Premier League table come the final day, and to no surprise – he has Manchester City leading the pack.

The Cityzens were ran close by Arsenal last season, but following a combination of injuries and poor results for the Gunners, it was Pep Guardiola’s side that secured the English top flight title for a third straight season.

And now Owen is backing them to become the first team in the history of the English game to lift the First Division/Premier League title for a fourth successive season.

In terms of his former clubs – Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Manchester United, he has the Reds leading in third. He also has Erik ten Hag’s side to finish in the Champions League positions in fourth place, and predicts a slight drop-off for the Magpies in seventh place.

Down towards the bottom of the table, Owen believes both Luton Town and Sheffield United will swiftly drop straight back into the Championship with 20th and 19th place finishes, whilst he has his boyhood club Everton handsomely avoiding a relegation battle in 12th.
