Brentford vs Tottenham Betting Tip 1: Bryan Mbeumo to Score

With Brentford’s primary source of goals banned until the new year, it befalls to the rest of Ivan Toney’s supporting cast to provide the firepower.

When Toney’s gambling ban came into fruition, Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo more than stepped up in his absence, hitting five goals and adding three assists to round off the season in style.

He, along with the likes of Yoane Wissa, will have to shoulder the goalscoring responsibility for the first half of the season, but we are backing him to score in this opening game.

Mbeumo also netted a brace and assisted Wissa away at Spurs just three months ago.

Brentford vs Tottenham Betting Tip 2: Over 2.5 Goals

Both meetings between these two last season saw four goals, and we are expecting a similarly high-scoring game.

Ange Postecoglou will attempt to drip feed his expansive, free-flowing style of play into his new group, who have grown accustomed to a regimental, rigid approach with Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espírito Santo and latterly Antonio Conte.

Thomas Frank’s side shone a light on Spurs’s fragility in the penultimate round of last season, but they too are susceptible to conceding which should translate to both teams finding the net.

Brentford vs Tottenham Betting Tip 3: Brentford to Win

Ivan Toney’s absence will be felt given his 20-goal impact last term, but this hugely adaptable Brentford side will be hungry to better their ninth-placed finish.

There was indeed a point where it looked as if they would never lose again, until they tasted defeat for the first time in 12 matches back in March.

They have more than enough quality to inflict the worst possible start on Ange Postecoglou, and there is not much to suggest that Tottenham’s summer business will take them to new places.

The Bees are also a tricky team to topple at the GTech Stadium – only Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City lost less games than them on home soil.
