Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Brighton for Spanish goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, however talks over Moises Caicedo are yet to materialise.

The Blues have finalised a deal with the Seagulls and Sanchez is set to complete a medical at Stamford Bridge in the coming days.

Chelsea will pay £20m with £5m in add ons for the Spaniard’s services, meaning the agile shot-stopper will join Mauricio Pochettino’s side to compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The Blues have been looking to sign another option in goal after Edouard Mendy departed for the Saudi Pro League earlier in the window, but have struggled due to the prices of their targets.

According to reports, a deal for Sanchez comes amid goalkeeper coach Ben Roberts arriving at Stamford Bridge, who previously worked with the goalkeeper at Brighton.

The Spaniard would take some pressure of the current Chelsea keeper, Kepa, after a disappointing season for b0th the club and player.

The Blues had a catastrophic campaign, as they finished 12th in the Premier League and recorded the lowest points tally in the club’s history.

Former Brighton manager, Graham Potter, was hired in September and was sacked after just six-months following a poor run of results.

His replacement, Frank Lampard, was unable to improve life at Stamford Bridge and the Blues ended the season without a single victory over any side in the top six.

In contrast, Sanchez had an impressive start to the 2022-23 campaign and made 25 appearances under Potter and Roberto De Zerbi.

Unfortunately for the Spanish international, he lost a starting spot inbetween the sticks and Jason Steele took the role of Seagulls number one.

Agreeing a deal for the 25-year-old proved simple enough, however, talks for Ecuadorian international Moises Caicedo have not been so simple.

The Seagulls have rejected multiple bids from Chelsea, with the latest being a staggering £80m. However, the club are seeking a fee of around £100m.
