Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest’s £50m-rated forward Brennan Johnson if Harry Kane departs this summer, but may face competition from Brentford and Aston Villa.
As Harry Kane looks to be edging ever-closer to switching Tottenham for Bayern Munich, Spurs are reportedly eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson if their talisman departs.
Bayern executives are currently in London to hold talks with Daniel Levy in an attempt to reach an agreement over a fee for the England captain.
Despite the Bundesliga champions reportedly still being short of Tottenham’s valuation of Kane, an agreement is expected to be met in the coming days.
And whilst Kane looks to be heading out the door, the Spurs hierarchy have been busy assessing options to fill the huge gap that will be left by his departure.
According to the Daily Mail, Mathys Tel of Bayern Munich, Gift Orban of Genk, and Johnson of Nottingham Forest are the three under consideration to be signed upon Kane’s exit.
However, Tel isn’t keen on a move, and Johnson holds an advantage over the other two of having Premier League experience as well as being homegrown.

Johnson enjoyed his first season in the English top flight last term, featuring in all 38 games for the Reds as well as chipping in with eight goals and three assists.
Considering this, it’s no surprise that Steve Cooper wants to keep hold of the Welsh international beyond this summer.
Forest have already rebuffed a £35m plus add-ons offer from Brentford, whilst Conference League-qualified Aston Villa also remain interested.
It is reported that Spurs won’t match Forest’s £50m valuation of the player, but may look for middle ground in order to secure his signing – adding a quicker profile to their frontline.
