Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus would prefer a move to the Red side of London this summer, as he has expressed his desire to remain in the Champions League if he leaves Ajax.
Kudus has become one of the hottest properties in Europe this summer and both Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Ajax star in this transfer window.
It has been revealed that should Kudus leave Ajax this summer he would pick Arsenal over Chelsea, as the Gunners will be playing Champions League football next season.
After finishing 12th in the Premier League last season in one of their most disappointing season’s to date, Chelsea will be without European football for the first time since 2017 next year.
Arsenal on the other hand challenged for the title last year and despite falling off towards the end of the season, the Gunners still finished second in the league which qualified them for a return to the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been without Champions League football since 2017, but their long-awaited return to Europe’s top competition has brought with it some high quality signings.
Arsenal have already recruited Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice as well as Kai Havertz from Chelsea this summer, in what has been a busy window for last season’s Premier League runners up.
Ajax director of football Sven Mislintat on Mohammed Kudus:
“We’ve very open and good discussions with both players and their agents with a clear wish in terms of timeline. We need time to get good replacements. 🇬🇭

However Mikel Arteta isn’t done this summer, as he is reportedly interested in signing Ajax’s Kudus to help strengthen the Gunners’ squad depth.
Kudus could be available for as little as £40m this summer, which would be a bargain for a player who scored 18 goals from midfield in an impressive season for Ajax last year.
With Arsenal’s spending already exceeding £200m this summer, it would be no surprise to see Arteta fork out for the Ghanian star who seems keen on a move to London.
