Liverpool saw their first bid of £37m rejected for Romeo Lavia last night, but the Reds are reportedly getting ready to go again as they plan to launch an improved offer to get their man.
Fabrizio Romano reported last night that Liverpool had their first bid rejected for Lavia, but an improved offer of £50m is expected to come shortly for the Southampton man.
Liverpool have already signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister this season and signing Lavia will completely transform their midfield following a difficult Premier League season.
Lavia appeared to trudge around the pitch rather disgruntled during Southampton’s pre season friendly against Bournemouth on Tuesday, with the Saints star looking like a player wanting away.
Despite the Belgian struggling to play a part during the loss to Bournemouth, Southampton boss Russel Martin expressed his pride in how the youngster handled the situation.

Lavia played 29 games for Southampton during the 2022/23 season and emerged as a top target for Liverpool this summer after a breakthrough year in the Premier League, despite his side’s relegation.

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson are both reportedly on their way out of Anfield this season, with both favouring the popular move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
With two experienced players leaving, Jurgen Klopp plans on bringing in three young faces to Liverpool’s midfield to completely reshape a new trio ahead of the new season that starts in three weeks.
Lavia (19), Mac Allister (24) and Szoboszlai (22) will all have huge price tags to live up to next season, but they could prove to be one of the most dangerous midfields in the league should they all gel together for Liverpool.
