Wilfred Zaha is closing in on a free transfer to Turkish champions Galatasaray following his exit from Crystal Palace after eight seasons in his second spell at Selhurst Park.

Zaha Closes In On Galatasaray Move

The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract at Palace expired at the end of June. He now looks almost certain to join Galatasaray after turning down multiple offers elsewhere including from Saudi Pro League sides. Seria A side Lazio also tried to sign him as well as Fenerbahce who play in the same league as Galatasaray.

Palace reportedly offered Zaha £200,000 to stay in London, but he is set to be playing Champions League football next season in Turkey.

Galatasaray posted a tweet saying “formal negotiations have been initiated” with the Ivory Coast international, suggesting the deal is close to completion. They also released a club statement: “Official negotiations have started with the football player regarding the transfer of professional football player Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha to our club.”

Zaha scored 90 goals in 458 games for Palace, after joining the club as a 12-year-old. He joined Manchester United in 2013 but had two loan spells with the Eagles either side of a short stint with Cardiff, before re-joining Palace permanently in 2015.

The former England international will reportedly earn £8m a year in Turkey and will sign a three-year deal with the Süper Lig champions.
