Liverpool are considering a move for Crystal Palace powerhouse Cheick Doucoure as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of the new season.

Cheick Doucoure Eyed Up By Liverpool

The Reds have been rebuilding their midfield this summer and have already signed Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister.

They have also had a few midfielders leave with Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all moving on. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho could both be out the door in the coming weeks with Saudi Arabian clubs knocking on the door.

Doucoure impressed at Selhurst Park last season following his £26m plus add-ons move from Lens last summer.

Palace would be reluctant to sell the Mali international, who was a key figure in their eventual strong finish last season under Roy Hodgson. The Eagles are reportedly wanting at least £35m for the 23-year-old.

If Liverpool don’t opt to strike a deal for Doucoure, they could turn their attention to other midfield targets. Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to also have an interest in Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips as well as Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.

The Reds have also been linked to Southampton youngster Romeo Lavia. However, the Saints want at least £50m for 19-year-old, who is a Manchester City academy graduate.
