Barcelona are reportedly interested in re-signing Spanish midfielder, Thiago Alcantara, as the 32-year-old looks set to leave Liverpool this summer.
The Reds have already seen a host of star players leave this summer, with the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian and Naby Keita all moving on to new ventures.
More are expected to depart in the coming weeks, as Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have received huge offers from Saudi Arabia – making Liverpool’s midfield extremely sparse.
As the window continues to progess, more rumours over possible departures come to the surface and according to reports, Thiago Alcantara could be on his way back to Barcelona.
The Spanish midfielder came through the ranks at ‘La Masia’ and would be Xavi’s second signing from the Premier League after Ilkay Gundogan swapped the Etihad for Camp Nou.

Thiago has made 97 appearances under Jurgen Klopp since joining in 2020, winning the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in the process.
Despite a plethora of injuries in the 2022-23 campaign, the 32-year-old made 28 appearances in all competitions. However, after registering just one assist all year, his future at Liverpool has faced a lot of uncertainty and could see a move to Barcelona come to fruition.
After clinching the La Liga title with an eleven point lead, the Catalan side have demonstrated the huge progression at the club – boasting an 11-point gap on rivals, Real Madrid.
Despite winning the league for the first time in almost five-years, Xavi’s side were underwhelming in European competitions and highlighted the need for summer signings.
Elimination from the Champions League group stages and Europa League round of 16 play-off, has reinforced the need for a host of signings this summer.
Thiago has one-year remaining on his current deal, meaning any transfer could cost up to £25m and will face competition from Saudi Arabia.
