Manchester United are reportedly exploring the possibility of offering Amad Diallo to Atalanta as part of a deal which would see Danish marksman Rasmus Hojlund come to Old Trafford.

Premier League giants Manchester United reportedly remain in talks with Atalanta over the signing of Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund.

The Red Devils have already seen a reported £30million bid for the youngster turned down, with the Serie A side looking to gain a fee in the region of £52million in order to sell.

Sky Sports News claim that a gap in valuation still exists between the pair, however United are hopeful a deal can be struck as Hojlund’s representatives have indicated that the player wants to move to Old Trafford.

It is also claimed in the report that the Red Devils are considering offloading Amad Diallo as part of the deal – possibly on loan, although Erik ten Hag wants to see the Ivorian in pre-season before any decisions are made.

Diallo, of course, joined United from Atalanta back in 2021, and enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Sunderland in the Championship last season.

Ten Hag is desperate to acquire a new striker this summer, with Hojlund seemingly being the ideal fit for the Dutchman.

The 20-year-old bagged nine times in 32 Italian top flight matches last term and now has six goals in six appearances for Denmark – including a hat-trick against Finland in March.

United had held a strong interest in Harry Kane, however Tottenham‘s reluctance to sell to a rival, and Bayern Munich‘s interest in the England captain scuppered any prospective move.

Wout Weghorst has also left the club following the culmination of his loan move, with Anthony Martial also being tipped to exit.

Mason Mount is the only new arrival at Old Trafford as of now, having completed a £60million move from Chelsea earlier in the month.

Whilst United and Atalanta continue to negotiate over a possible transfer, one thing remains certain – Hojlund’s arrival in the North West would be a more than welcome one.
