Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club are currently in talks with Fenerbahce over the transfer of Turkish sensation Arda Guler.

Joan Laporta, the President of Barcelona, has confirmed that the club are in talks with Fenerbahce over the transfer of teenage sensation Arda Guler.

He also revealed that all of Europe’s top clubs are chasing the Turkish sensation, therefore La Blaugrana will face stiff competition for his signature.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with the 18-year-old, along with the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool and Arsenal.

“We are talking to Fenerbahçe for Arda Güler. All the top European clubs want him.” Laporta told Mundo Deportivo.

“Arda is a very young Turkish player and it’s is true that our scouting department has been following him for a long time.”

Despite being so young, Guler has already made 51 appearances for Fenerbahce and has scored on nine occasions.

His creative play style and immense dribbling has seen him nicknamed the ‘Turkish Messi’ by local media, with his home country holding high hopes for his future.

He is also a senior Turkish international, making his debut at the age of 17 in November 2020.

Guler recently scored his first goal for Turkey, audaciously curling beyond Danny Ward into the top-left corner as his side defeated Wales 2-0 in European Championship qualifying.
