According to UK betting sites, Fulham are in the running to sign Southampton ace, James Ward-Prowse, despite starting pre-season with the Saints.

The England international has attracted interest from a host of Premier League sides following Southampton’s disappointing 2022-23 campaign.

Former Luton manager, Nathan Jones, was sacked after a matter of months following a poor run of results and Ruben Selles was unable to keep the Saints up.

With Championship football returning to St Mary’s for the first time in 11 seasons, many expect the 28-year-old to push for a move back to England’s top-flight.

Ward-Prowse contributed to 13 goals in 38 Premier League matches and has established as a Premier League midfielder – being just one free-kick away from equaling David Beckham’s record (18).

Despite these rumours with a move away, the Saints academy graduate is back in pre-season and was spotted greeting the newly appointed, Russell Martin.

A move away from the south coast is still on the cards, as Fulham are reportedly keen on bringing Ward-Prowse to Craven Cottage this summer.

After a ninth place finish in the Premier League, the side from west London are preparing for another season in England’s top-flight. Meaning a plethora of activity is expected and the club have reportedly made an approach for Manchester United midfielder, Fred.

Marco Silva is clearly after a midfield reinforcement to boost his sides chances next year, making Ward-Prowse an extremely viable target.

The Southampton midfielder is under contract until 2026 and could cost the club up to £40m – as the Saints are keen to invest in the coming months.
