Sacked Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys, 66, has secretly married a 35-year-old friend of his daughter despite denying falling in love with her following his wife’s cancer diagnosis.

According to the Daily Mail, Keys tied the knot with 35-year-old lawyer Lucie Rose in a £20,000 ceremony in Kingswear, Devon last Saturday attended by family and friends.

It has also been reported that his 38-year-old daughter Jemma and son Joshua were not present at the wedding, with rumours of a family feud taking centre stage.

Keys split from his wife Julia after 36 years of marriage as she recovered from thyroid cancer when details emerged of his affair with a younger woman in 2016.

The 66-year-old was sacked by Sky Sports in 2011 after he and long-time broadcasting partner Andy Gray were discovered to have made derogatory, sexist comments about female referee Sian Massey and other female figures in the industry.

In a 2019 interview with The Athletic, Keys denied leaving Julia ‘in the most appalling way’ and falling in love with a friend of his daughter’s.

“I’ll mention the unmentionable for you. Did I leave my wife fighting cancer? No.

“I don’t know what happened. I don’t know why our marriage ended the way it did, but my wife was fighting cancer for seven years before I left her and she had been in remission for seven years.

“She and I went to London every day of her fight, prior to a ground-breaking operation that saw her in a period of recovery.

“If people believe that I walked away with my wife fighting cancer with a friend of my daughter’s. I can’t change that now.

“Tell a lie twice and it becomes the truth. Tell it on social media and it haunts you forever. I didn’t fall in love with a friend of my daughter’s.”
