Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea have accepted a £65million bid from Arsenal for Kai Havertz, with a ‘long-term’ deal already agreed.

Arsenal have wasted no time getting to business this summer, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Chelsea forward Kai Havetz will make the move across London next season.

The Gunners emerged as surprise favourites to sign the German forward last week, as Real Madrid appeared to pull out of the race.

Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his squad in depth before next season, as Arsenal make their return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.

Along with Havertz, Arsenal are also reportedly in talks to sign Declan Rice, Romeo Lavia and Jurrien Timber this summer.

Havertz played 35 Premier League games for Chelsea last season, scoring seven goals in what was a disappointing campaign for the Blues.

Next season Havertz will be competing with Gabriel Jesus for a position up front, but the German is also able to play on the wing or in a midfield role which could be ideal – as the Gunners struggled with injuries towards the end of last season.

As someone who has scored in a Champions League final, Havertz has shown he can keep his nerve on the biggest stage who will be an excellent addition to Arteta’s dressing room next season.
