Liverpool are reportedly progressing in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star, Ryan Gravenberch, as the Dutchman looks set to leave the Bundesliga side summer.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will compete in the Europa League for the first time in over five seasons, after finishing fifth in the Premier League and have lost a plethora of star names.

Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keita have all parted ways with Liverpool and the need for a huge summer overhaul has increase drastically.

However, Liverpool have acted swiftly in the summer transfer window, as the 2019 Champions League winners signed Brighton star, Alexis Mac Allister, for just £35m.

Strengthening the midfield appears to be the priority for Liverpool, as Jordan Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho are reaching the latter stages of their careers and according to reports, the club have moved a step closer to signing Bayern Munich midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch.

The 21-year-old earned a move to the German champions during an impressive spell in the Netherlands, coming through the ranks at Ajax and making 102 appearances for the first team.

In June 2022, the Dutchman moved to the Allianz Arena for around £16m and his time in the Bundesliga has not gone according to plan.

Playing a total of 937 minutes in all competitions, almost 2500 less than he managed in his closing season at Ajax, Gravenberch failed to register a single goal contribution in the league.

Starting only three Bundesliga matches this campaign, the lack of playing time has caused rumours over the Dutch international’s future to circulate, with the club reportedly willing to sell their 2022 summer signing for around £35m.

Manchester United have also been linked with the Bayern midfielder, as Erik ten Hag was a huge admirer of the youngster during their time in the Eredivisie. However, the Red Devils have turned their attention to alternative options – including a potential bid for Mason Mount.
