Bruno Fernandes Has Urged Manchester United to sign his international teammate Goncalo Ramos from Benfica this summer, and believes “he has all the qualities”.

Goncalo Ramos is represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes and wants Benfica to sell him ahead of next season. Ramos scored 27 goals in his first season as the lead striker for the Liga Portugal giants. Since taking over from Darwin Nunez in attack, he has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in European football.

United boss Erik ten Hag wants to bring a new striker to Old Trafford this summer, but have opted against pursuing a move for Harry Kane. The Red Devils boss does not think Spurs will sell him to a direct Premier League rival, so may wait until next summer when his contract expires.

Ramos helped Benfica win the Portuguese league title after impressing in Qatar at last year’s World Cup. He replaced Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal’s starting line-up for the knockout stages where he bagged an outrageous hat-trick in a 6-1 demolition of Switzerland.

He joined Benfica’s fascinating youth team when he was just 12, and now looks set to move on nine years later.

Bruno Fernandes Urges United To Sign Ramos

With the talent that Ramos has, Fernandes has urged his team to sign him.

“I think Goncalo (Ramos) has all the conditions to play in the Premier League,

“He plays with a lot of intensity, he presses very well and is really good inside of the penalty area. He is strong. Obviously, he is very young and will improve a lot.

“If he continues to work as he has worked so far, I believe he has the potential to become one of the best strikers in the world. He is already close to that level, but he still needs to go to a more competitive league and prove himself. He will go there, something I believe he has all the capabilities to do.”
