South coast club Brighton are set to offer Chelsea £40million for Levi Colwill, as they look to secure his return to the Amex having spent last season on loan at the club.

Brighton are expected to return with another bid for Chelsea‘s Levi Colwill, this time in the region of around £40million, according to the Evening Standard.

The Seagulls offered £30million for the defender’s services last week, but the Blues rebuffed the bid and were clear in stating that he is not for sale.

Chelsea are expected to part ways with up to 10 players this summer, however they have insisted that the 20-year-old is not for sale under any circumstance.

Colwill spent last term on loan with Brighton, and has just been promoted to the senior England national team from the U21 side.

He could be in line to make his debut under Gareth Southgate as they face off against Malta and North Macedonia in European Championship qualifying on Friday and Monday.

The Cobham academy product impressed massively during his time at the Amex, helping them toward European qualification for the first time in their history.

Colwill made just 17 appearances in the Premier League for the Seagulls this term, but with most coming in the latter half of the campaign as they pushed for Europa League qualification.

He had a role to play in vital victories over the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as in the 1-1 stalemate against treble winners Manchester City.

The Evening Standard‘s report also claims that Pep Guardiola’s side are monitoring Colwill’s situation, as well as Merseyside club Liverpool.
